Aakash, the world's cheapest tablet PC from India which costs about Rs 3000, has received about 3 Lakh pre-booking orders for its commercial version.
Aakash, the cheapest android tablet pc is the concept of IIT Rajasthan. A subsidised model of Aakash conceived by Datawind has already distributed free in schools and colleges. Aakash's retail bookings now exceed India's estimated tablet pc market which was dominated by Apple, Samsung and Reliance.
In the next version, Aakash would be coming with a capacitive touch screen and double speed processor. The Government is also considering a proposal to make Aakash 2 with 700 Mhz processor at the same price.
