After Padmashree, Colonel and Doctor, a new honorary title of "Black Belt" is heading to superstar Mohanlal. The Kukkiwon, world Taekwondo Headquarters, Seuol, Korea will confer Mohanlal with Honorary Black belt of Taekwondo.
Addressing at a news conference, Taekwondo Association of Kerala (TAKE) General Secretary B. Aji said that they have received this information stating that that Mohanlal has been chosen for the black belt title in recognition to his individual contribution and achievements in various fields. He also added that this step would help in increasing the popularity of Taekwondo in the state.
Mohanlal is the third Indian receiving the Honorary black belt, after Hindi Film star Shah Rukh Khan and Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lal Thanhawla.
Earlier in the year 2009, Mohanlal was honoured with the title of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army. And in the year 2010, he received an honorary doctorate from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Kerala.
